  • Reminders not showing? Check that notifications are allowed for PillPal in your phone's Settings and that the pill has at least one time and day.
  • Premium not showing? Open PillPal, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases.
  • Widget stuck? Open the app once; it refreshes the widget on every change and at midnight.

About the developer

PillPal is made by Black Box Code LLC, an independent studio run by Mario Diaz, who writes the guides on this site. The studio builds small, focused apps (PillPal, the ReadLens photo-to-speech reader and others) with the same rules: no accounts unless they are truly needed, data on the device, and one job done well. PillPal started from a personal habit of standing over the bottle at night wondering whether the morning pill had happened.

How the guides are written

The guides cover the remembering part of medication: routines, reminders and records. Where a guide makes a claim about memory, habits or how often people miss medication, it links the published research or public-health report behind it inline and lists it under Sources at the end; claims the research does not support are softened or removed. Descriptions of how PillPal behaves are checked in the current release of the app on a real phone, and where the answer depends on the operating system, the page says which iOS or Android version it applies to.

Comparison pages carry a "Checked on" date. It changes only when the other app's store listing and public documentation have been read again and the table re-checked against them, not when the page is merely edited. Every guide and comparison also shows the date it was last updated.

The guides are reviewed for plain language, not medical accuracy, and no clinician reviews them. They never suggest what to take or how much; that stays with your doctor or pharmacist. To report an error, email support@blackboxcode.io with the page address; corrections are made on the page itself, and its updated date moves with them.
