Who it's for
What PillPal is for
The same three moves (add a pill, pick times and days, tap Taken from the lock screen) cover very different lives. Here is how each one uses them.
Daily medication
Blood pressure, thyroid, cholesterol, antidepressants, birth control: the pills that matter most are the ones taken at the same time every day, which is exactly when the brain stops noticing them. PillPal puts a time-sensitive reminder on the lock screen at that minute and keeps the dose pending until you tap Taken, so "I think I did" turns into "I did, at 8:02." Seven habits that make a daily dose stick.
Two doses a day? Add two times to the same pill. Morning and night pills with different names? Each gets its own colour so the Today list reads without thinking.
Vitamins and supplements
Supplements are easy to skip because nothing hurts when you do. The streak fixes that. A gold ring that fills every day and a mascot that cheers when it closes give the vitamin D and the omega-3 the tiny bit of stakes they were missing. Search the library for the exact one, set the days (weekdays only is popular), and let the streak carry you. The vitamin and supplement guide covers meal timing and restocking.
Caregivers
If you manage a parent's or partner's pills, PillPal is fast enough to set up on their phone in five minutes. Big touch targets, one-tap logging and a widget that shows what is left mean they can run it themselves, and the dose history tells you at a glance whether the week went well. Share the daily plan from the onboarding summary or keep a copy on your own phone. The caregiver guide walks through the setup.
ADHD and busy brains
On a busy day, the plan to take a pill is easy to lose. A reminder that gets through Focus mode, sits on the lock screen where your eyes already are, and needs one tap to clear is a way of moving the remembering out of your head and into the phone. Snooze gives you ten more minutes without losing the thread; Skip lets you decide on purpose instead of by accident. The ADHD guide explains why each piece matters.
Shift work, travel and irregular weeks
Weekday and weekend schedules per pill, several times a day, and custom day selections cover rotating shifts and long trips. Reminders are scheduled on the device, so they keep firing with no signal and no Wi-Fi, in the air or abroad. Schedules for weekdays, weekends and shifts shows the common patterns.
Older adults
No account, no password, no login screen. Large text, clear colours, and a Taken button that is impossible to miss. The widget answers "have I taken them?" without opening anything, and the app follows the phone's text size settings. The seniors guide goes deeper.
PillPal is a reminder tool, not medical advice. It never suggests what to take or how much; follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
